Фильтры: Транспорт (воздух-наземное-роботы), Одиночные миссии (single), Для редактора;
Данный мод сделан благодаря DEAD TEAM (https://vk.com/club202753582). Полностью заменяет ЗИС-5 в игре на более соответствующий эпохе грузовик ГАЗ-51.
Модель была взята из игры Men of War: Assault Squad 2 Cold War
No evidence on this subject, even a Chinese friend could not find any indication of Soviet models actually received in the 1930s (and perhaps then built under license), then given (or sold) to Vietnam.
In doubt, the replacement of this outdated vehicle by another, more likely, seems coherent, and historically more accurate.
Thank you. I have not checked whether the GAZ-51 was used in Vietnam, but it looks much better than the old ZIS-5. The main goal was atmosphere, not historicity. I remember the discussion. She gave me the idea to create this addon. I'm sorry for my poor English, I hope I'm writing clearly. Have a nice day!
"According to General Giap, the Viet Minh used 400 GAZ-51 soviet-built trucks at the battle of Dien Bien Phu".
From the same source, the Chinese also supplied identical trucks, manufactured in Russia. It could also be indicated that China manufactured this vehicle under the name "Nanjing Yuejin NJ130", some of which were apparently furnished to North Vietnam.
It is a safe bet that UZSTALKER should, as always, be able to find relevant information on the subject, particularly from Russian sites that I cannot exploit ...
Some interesting information regarding the use of GAZ-51s in Vietnam:
"Gaz-51 - Adaptation to Vietnam
The GAZ-51, Soviet trucks designed for European roads, were adapted to operate in the specific conditions of Vietnam, including muddy roads and wet climates, in the following ways:
Installation of special tires: The GAZ-51s were equipped with tires with wider and deeper rubber treads, designed to withstand muddy roads and wet ground. These tires provided better grip and reduced the risk of getting stuck.
Modification of the transmission system: The transmissions of the GAZ-51s were modified to take into account the difficult road conditions of Vietnam. This included the addition of wider gear ratios to allow for better acceleration and control in difficult road situations.
Installation of improved braking systems: The braking systems of the GAZ-51s were reinforced to compensate for the loss of friction due to mud and wetness. This included the addition of larger and more powerful disc brakes, as well as air-assisted braking systems.
Protection of engines and mechanical systems: The GAZ-51s’ engines and mechanical systems were protected against corrosion and degradation caused by moisture and mud. This included the application of anti-corrosion coatings and the installation of improved filtration systems to protect the air and fuel filters.
Body modifications: The GAZ-51s’ bodies were modified to withstand the climatic conditions of Vietnam. This included the addition of rubber or plastic roofs to reduce water penetration and the installation of more weather-resistant doors and windows.
Specific care and maintenance: The GAZ-51s required specific care and maintenance to operate effectively in the conditions of Vietnam. This included regular checks of the brake systems, transmissions and engines, as well as regular cleaning of the filters and cooling systems.
In summary, the GAZ-51s were adapted to operate in the specific conditions of Vietnam by modifying the tires, transmission, braking systems, engine and mechanical system protection, bodies, and implementing specific servicing and maintenance practices."
